10 Most Broken Spell Cards In Yu-Gi-Oh!
4. Change Of Heart
Kazuki Takahashi, the creator of Yu-Gi-Oh! has stated he would like to see every card that’s been on the ban list for over five years eventually come off, even if it means a slight errata to the text.
Unfortunately, it's going to be exceptionally hard changing the text on Change of Heart without drastically changing the card. Change of Heart is utterly broken, it’s a ‘free’ card that allows you to take control of one of your opponent’s monsters until the end of your turn.
The thing is your opponent’s never getting the creature back, you can attack with it then simply tribute it off for a more powerful monster.
Yu-Gi-Oh! has evolved so much since Change of Heart was originally printed, now you can not only tribute monsters but you can ritual, synchro, XYZ and the newest way, link summon monsters which means you’re definitely not shy of ways of disposing of the monster you took.
Change of Heart also actively punishes your opponents for playing their goddamn deck to its strengths!
Imagine your opponent is having the time of their life trying to summon an Egyptian God card or a Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon, or anything that’s super hard to summon but game-winning. They spend their entire turn and two to three cards making their boss monster only for you let them do it then steal it like the bad man you are.
Change of Heart is one of them 'no skill' cards that rightfully earns its place on the ban list and there it should remain – Banned since 2004!
