10 Most Brutally Difficult NES Games EVER
6. Double Dragon III: The Sacred Stones
In a simpler world, side-scrolling beat-em-ups were life. The likes of Final Fight and Streets of Rage were formative parts of a gamer's childhood, and for the most part, they were accessible and fun games to play for many different ages.
Double Dragon on the other hand couldn't give a damn if the player was 8 or 80 years old, hard was hard and it didn't discriminate against your age, just your patience and aptitude to lose your temper.
This was none more prevalent than in Double Dragon III: The Sacred Stones. With its unbalanced health and overpowered enemies, you'd have more fun watching the 1994 movie adaptation on loop for eternity than play this game.
If you were lucky enough to have a couch co-op buddy to join you, you'd have to be equally lucky they didn't accidentally (or purposefully) wheel kick you in the face because lives are non-existent and health is scant.
