10 Most Brutally Difficult NES Games EVER
2. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles has had many life cycles throughout popular culture over the past few decades.
In its earliest form, it led to a number of successful games on now retro consoles that made big money, including the awesome Turtles in Time game for the SNES. That same success was also achieved with the very first TMNT game which landed on the NES, however, it consists of some mind-boggling difficulty that should be criminalised.
That may sound like an excessive statement, but let's not forget Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles was a cartoon and toy line aimed at children, which goes to figure that the NES game will primarily be played by children.
So, why they decided to make it harder than fortified cement is anyone's guess.
Ask anyone who's played what the hardest level in any Turtles game is, and everyone will tell you it's Water Dam, the most disgusting underwater level you'll ever play.
It formed just a small part of an obscenely challenging game. You have to wonder how many kids were left crying by their inability to get finish the game. It was probably a lot.
