10 Most Criminally Overlooked Video Games Of 2018

5. Hitman 2

Falling short of much buzz online thanks to a paltry marketing strategy, Hitman 2 wows the second you turn it on.

Make no mistake, IO Interactive make some of the most impressive sandbox environments in all of gaming. Unlike the majority of Red Dead Redemption 2 - whose townships operate on strict policy of "trigger the event when the main character is near", Hitman's clockwork levels are built to be explored, just to see which avenues of contract killing you can open up.

From tampering with an F1 car so it explodes to literally dressing up as a maniacal Santa in the new Christmas DLC, there's a darkly delicious sense of humour to everything you can make Agent 47 do that the game revels in, encouraging and rewarding players every step of the way.

Yes, it's "more of the same" compared to how immaculate and progressive 2016's reboot felt, but when that's one of the best games of the generation, who's complaining?
