10 Most Disappointing Games Of The Decade (So Far)

9. Overwatch 2

Marvel's Avengers
Blizzard

Given Overwatch's phenomenal popularity as the hero shooter to rule them all, a sequel should've basically been a slam dunk, especially as it was enticingly released free-to-play.

But despite being broadly well-received by reviewers, Overwatch 2 was panned into the Earth's core by players, many of whom resented that Blizzard shut the original Overwatch down when releasing the sequel.

Beyond this, the switch from a 6v6 to 5v5 dynamic proved hugely divisive, with many calling Overwatch 2 unbalanced compared to its predecessor, and to make matters worse a much-hyped PvE campaign mode was cancelled soon after launch.

It's frankly impressive that the red-hot hate from players continues to sustain to this very day, with Overwatch 2 maintaining a "Mostly Negative" rating on Steam, as the franchise's millions of fans mourn the purity of the O.G. Overwatch experience.

All in all, the consensus seems to be that Overwatch didn't really need a sequel, and that it definitely didn't need to mess with a winning formula quite so clumsily.
