10 Most Disappointing Video Games Of 2018

9. Dynasty Warriors 9

Dynasty Warriors 9
Koei

Even though it's been chugging along fine for years now, contempt has been brewing in the Dynasty Warriors fandom. As Koei continued to milk the franchise for all it's worth, churning out sequels and seemingly putting in the bare minimum amount of effort, there was the hope that the ninth main instalment could right the ship. Instead, it sank it.

While it didn't take a total beating from critics, die-hard fans revolted against it, with the most common complaint being just how lazy it was. From the visuals to the battles themselves, there just wasn't all that much appealing about the sequel, with the archaic gameplay being exacerbated by bugs and a general lack of polish.

The idea was to transform Dynasty Warriors into an open world game like Assassin's Creed or Just Cause, but unfortunately the devs seemed to take all the worst ideas and habits from those releases, and completely forget about the good ones.
