10 Most Disappointing Video Games Of 2018
8. Battlefield V
As I said in my review, Battlefield V isn't a bad game. When everything clicks, EA's sequel can be a blistering depiction of all-out-war as players scramble to use the limited resources at their disposal to turn the tide of huge multiplayer matches. With that said, the amount of content at launch, combined with the myriad of bugs and issues that shouldn't have made it into the final release, make disappointment an inescapable feeling no matter how much you enjoy the moment-to-moment gameplay.
Booting up the sequel to find that a lot of the features talked about in the run-up to release weren't actually available, such as the battle royale and Tides of War live service, was deflating, as was some balancing issues with the Medic class and frustrating glitches that made long sessions a test of patience. It didn't matter that a lot of this was indeed flagged before the game dropped - simply knowing about something in advance doesn't justify it.
Throw in consistently disappointing moves from DICE, such as the last-minute delay or the recent delay of the first patch because a game-breaking bug was discovered in it days before it was set to go live, and it just seems like nothing can go right for Battlefield V.
