8. Pizza Aliens - TMNT: Turtles In Time

The Pizza Aliens were, for a moment, just a monster of the week for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles to face in the 1980s TV show.

These weird critters, inspired by the Xenomorph and born from interdimensional meatballs, could’ve been easily forgotten if not for the fact they were immortalised in the extremely popular Turtles in Time SNES game. More specifically, the fondly remembered Sewer Surfin’ stage.

Whilst the Turtles living underground is common knowledge, at least they’ve been shown to make it more hospitable. In this game, you’re reminded the four totally tubular heroes live around pipes full of sewage and human waste. So, as these lanky monsters made of cheese come flying out of the water, it’s hard to shake the fact they’re covered in sewage once you’ve considered it.

Cheese can stand to go a little mouldy but most people probably wouldn’t dare go near any dunked in sewer water.

In the recent Shredder’s Revenge, the Pizza Aliens made a grand return and thankfully this time they’ve made it to dry land. However, it doesn’t really help as they lurk underground waiting for our heroes to approach. God knows how rotten and disgusting these living forms of cheese, pepperoni and green peppers have become whilst lurking underneath that sun-scorched sand.
