At a time when videogames were still seen as a pastime for losers and the socially inept, the last thing we needed was an ad that really hammered this home. I wasn't ashamed to spend much of my youth in front of a Nintendo, mainly because I was too young to care, but Nintendo really succeeded here in making videogames seem like the dorkiest, saddest thing you could do. From the kid constantly constantly readjusting his glasses, to that rap - performed by a boy who seemed to be chosen for the part specifically because he had the most puberty-stricken voice they could find. Chances are you hung out with kids just like these, but why oh why did Nintendo had to slap us around the face with that sad fact?
