10 Most Iconic Moments From Call Of Duty 4: Modern Warfare

2. Getting To Join The Mile High Club

Aboard a jet with a a three minute time limit (on just the one on Veteran difficulty) you are tasked with battling your way down cramped aisles and cabin space to rescue a very important hostage. Once again this was a special forces mission and you work your way through a long line of enemy terrorists with silent weapons and chilling efficiency.

A culmination of a ton of action films, the climax of the mission sees you fire off a headshot in slow-motion as hostage and kidnapper struggle. What made this most exciting was that the game ended on a high no less incredible than Crew Expendable, hours earlier. The combat space was tight, enemies had plentiful cover and yet you could punch holes through chairs and partition walls to murder that one bloke who just doesn't ever pop out.

What's more, players were encouraged to speedrun through this one as an achievement and trophy were given if you could beat the level on Veteran, appropriately titled: 'Mile High Club'. Perhaps the best example of a reward for watching the credits of a game, too.

Nice one, Infinity Ward.
