10 Most Overlooked PS4 Gems Of 2017 (So Far)
6. Yakuza 0
It's only a few weeks until the long-awaited Yakuza Kiwami drops on Western shores for the first time, but while that is a full-on overhaul remake of the 2006 original, Yakuza 0 takes place before, telling the tale of how series regulars Kazuma Kiryu and Goro Majima initially got their start in the criminal underworld.
Benefitting from years of improvements in regards to combat and activity placement across the world, Yakuza 0 is the best-playing entry in the series yet, its blend of brawler-style arcade gameplay meshing perfectly with things like playing pool or firing through the story missions.
As a series, Yakuza has always struggled in the west thanks to being compared to GTA, yet the reality is that it plays way more like a Tekken Force mode or 3D Streets of Rage. Once you get that down, get on board with the Metal Gear-levels of quirkiness and epic "That person is my brother/supposed to be dead/my clone all along!"-style plot twists and Sega's loveable portrayal of Japanese culture, Yakuza is just plain lovable.
