10 Most Overrated Nintendo Switch Games

1. Animal Crossing: New Horizons

Animal Crossing New Horizons
Nintendo

Stop punching the screen, it's a good game, plus anything said here is hardly likely to undo its success. It's arguably the best selling game on Switch of all time (Mario Kart 8 technically outsold it, but it came free with a lot of the consoles).

If you were new to the world of games and asked which was the most successful game on Switch, you might say: Zelda, Mario Odyssey, or Smash Bros, among many others. If you were then shown Animal Crossing: New Horizons, you might be forgiven for thinking someone was playing a joke. It's a quality title, it's colourful, fun, relaxing, and a time sponge, and the chaos that was COVID-19 probably helped...

But, it's like everything that's gone before; it didn't really expand on the formula in any meaningful way. You still can't play any of the games or activities you build, no ping pong, or volley ball tournaments, etc.

Take everything you did in previous games, only this time you can do it on a small island. Just the one island too, if you want two islands, in case you have young siblings, you'll need another console and another copy of the game. It's not exactly bursting with innovation or generosity.

Again, good game.
