10 Most Overrated Video Games Of 2016
8. Street Fighter V
The gaming press en masse should be pretty embarrassed that they allowed Street Fighter V to land a 77 Metascore on release, considering that the game was essentially released as a full-price Early Access title.
SFV launched with numerous menus blurred out, no arcade mode, an hilariously spare excuse for a story mode, several iconic fighters missing from the roster, and forced players to grind incessantly to unlock new character colours.
Capcom did release free updates to sort-of-correct some of these issues many months later, but it's still a disgrace to gaming journalism as a whole that an incomplete game received such solid reviews upon release, especially as it was clearly rushed out in time for competition season.
At least the game sold 600,000 copies less than Capcom expected by the end of March, so they ended up paying heavily for their greed.
