10 Most Polarizing Characters In Video Games

5. Garrosh Hellscream - World Of Warcraft

The Cataclysm expansion pack for World of Warcraft introduced a lot of controversial features and changes to the game. One of them was a change of leadership within the Horde faction, where the beloved Warchief Thrall was replaced with Garrosh Hellscream, an ever-furious and brutal warmonger. Suffice to say, many people weren't too happy about this replacement.

There were many things about Garrosh that made him a particularly unpopular leader. He didn't care about destroying the world in order to reach his goals, he caused a lot of in-fighting within his own faction, and on top of that, he was also outright racist towards non-orcs within the Horde.

When Cataclysm came out, most people shared the same hateful sentiment towards the new leader. However, as times changed and new Warchiefs were introduced, some people actually began to appreciate Garrosh and think of him as someone representative of the true essence of the Horde: its savage sense of honour, and veneration of raw strength.

Warchief Hellscream may not have been the most popular leader, but he was certainly one that inspired many debates within the WoW community.
