10 Most Rewarding Evil Playthroughs In Gaming

It feels so good to be this bad.

Although the spectrum of gaming is varied, every video game abides by specific rules. Depending on the title, the protagonist may have to abide by a moral code. Mowing down pedestrians in GTA is satisfying, but draws the attention of the police. There are many titles where killing a single civilian will result in an instant Game Over. Even if the hero has to perform a few questionable decisions, they'll try to do the right thing more often than not.

However, there are certain games where there are no consequences for embracing evil. Not only that, there are times where indulging in every vice and sin imaginable will bring about the greatest rewards.

Titles like Knights of the Old Republic offer the player a choice whether to give in to the Dark Side. Other games can only be completed by behaving like a bonafide psychopath. Either way, it's hard not to side with the devil when the benefits are so good.

Despite the fact some of the entries on this list can be played with honour and nobility, acting like an irredeemable tyrant is considerably more entertaining.

10. Detroit: Become Human

Quantic Dream's sci-fi saga centres around a robot revolution, which is told from the viewpoint of three androids, the peaceful Kara, the conflicted Connor, and the rebellious leader, Markus. Detroit: Become Home has many branching pathways, allowing players to steer the narrative in the direction they are most comfortable with.

However, getting your hands dirty is necessary to unlock all the endings. Players may initially perform the less ethical actions, purely to get that sweet 100% completion rating. But when you realise that performing deplorable deeds unlocks trophies, you'll probably wonder why you didn't give in to evil sooner.

With that said, some of the decisions you need to make it are downright diabolical. To save your metallic exterior, you may have to sacrifice your friends, sell out your allies, or destroy androids to repair yourself. In one scenario, you have to allow a family (including a child) to freeze to death for the greater good.

Also, playing the Good Samaritan is far from easy. When the authorities invade a peaceful protest and destroy countless androids (including your closest friends), retaliation isn't just justified, but necessary.
