10 Most Ridiculous Pokémon Ever

Pokédex - 568/569 (Generation V)

Frequently cited as an example of how low the bar has sunk in terms of Pokémon creation is Trubbish. Described as a 'Trash Bag' Pokémon, its design is actually quite innovative given the concept, as its bag ties function as ears and two rips in its sides enable hands to protrude. Its evolution, Garbodor, takes the ridiculousness to an extreme, resembling a larger liner that is bursting from almost every seam with rubbish.

Unsurprisingly, the pair are poison types, and it could be argued that they are simply the personification of land pollution, much like Generation I creations Grimer/Muk and Koffing/Weezing were water pollution and air pollution respectively. All three duos are ridiculous in fairness, though Koffing/Weezing is perhaps more fondly remembered than it has any right to be as a result of its role in the anime series.

The Pokémon world must be a messed up place if children are encouraged to play with creatures that resemble rotting garbage, but then again, it is a world where parents are quite happy to send their children alone into a world of potentially murderous beasts from the age of ten onwards...
