10 Most Sacrilegious Video Game Movie Moments

9. Alone In The Dark - Turning It Into A Buddy Cop Movie

This list could have been full of Uwe Boll's crimes against video game movies, but let's give some others a chance.

Despite earlier Alone in the Dark games having a decent reputation, the 2005 film adaptation almost became a self-fulfilling prophecy, as the latest titles quickly nose-dived.

Thanks for that, Boll.

The most egregious crime comes from the movie itself. Partnering wise-cracking Christian Slater with Tara Reid wasn't going to start well, and from daft action sequences to terrible CGI, not one element was convincing or fun to watch unfold.

Nor was making Edward Carnby a "supernatural detective" from a top-secret bureau, a la Hellboy, or him being the result of secret experiments as a child (like Dark Angel, or Hitman).

The whole project flopped, as it had so little to do with the games or source material, further notching up evidence that Uwe Boll has little consideration for fans of the games he represents.
