10 Most Sacrilegious Video Game Movie Moments

8. Street Fighter - (Almost) No Iconic Special Moves

Max Payne Mark Wahlberg
Capcom

Considering the absolute disaster that was Super Mario Bros. the year before, Capcom and Stephen de Souza had a golden opportunity to make amends.

And for the most part, they... kind of did?

Alright, there were a few casting mishaps we can now look back on as cheesy and over the top. but for the most part, a lot of fighters were [mostly] faithful to their roots.

Van Damme's all-American hero suffers from not having an American accent, but the late Raul Julia, whilst maybe not having the physique, played a great schlock villain in M. Bison.

But the problem in making a "realistic" video game movie means compromise.

Considering a lot of special moves are throwing balls of energy or gravity-defying jumps and spins, something had to go. Bar Guile throwing a flash kick or Bison using some psychokinetic moves, a lot were absent.

No Blanka electricity, no stretchy Dhalsim, no E. Honda flying head-butting his way across the screen.

At least Vega had his claw, I guess?
