Am I biased towards this game? Yes. Am I going to apologise for it? Never. Now, before you point it out, I know that this phase of the final boss fight is rather disheartening. While the visuals of the bestial evil entity in the overworld rather than in a classic dungeon is breath-taking, this fight leaves a lot to be desired.

Still, despite this last phase of the fight being far-too easy for a game where some of the most standard enemies can one-shot you, the fights leading up to it were incredible. The fight against Dark Beast Ganon is frustrating, but it doesn’t take away from the satisfaction of knowing that you’ve beaten possibly the hardest Zelda game of all time.

If you’ve played the game normally, you’ve probably spent countless hours beating shrines, finding the Master Sword, cooking food and potions, hunting lynels etc. So, when it comes to your final victory, it gives you the relief that only a game which so much content could offer. Even if you decide to go straight to the castle, knowing you’ve beat the game on what is essentially hard mode gives you a different sense of satisfaction. This option also creates a great community for speed run potential.
