3. Scorpion Regains His Mortality
After the Shirai Ryu ninjas were wiped out, the sorcerer, Quan Chi, resurrected one of the men called Hanzo Hasashi and transformed him into a hellspawn called Scorpion. When Quan Chi informed him that his wife and child were murdered by a rival ninja called Sub-Zero, Scorpion vowed to serve the sorcerer if he helped avenge his family.
Scorpion eventually learned that Quan Chi was the architect of all of his misery since he was the one who killed Hanzo's loved ones, condemning him to a life of vengeance and servitude.
Since Scorpion has been an undead warrior since the first game, players just accepted that's who he was. When you see the yellow-robed ninja shooting fire from his flaming skull, it's hard to picture he had a family, not to mention the fact that he was once a human being.
But in Mortal Kombat X, Raiden used his power to return all of Quan Chi's revenants to their mortal form, including Scorpion. This was the first time gamers had ever seen Scorpion's true face. Realising he had wasted years fighting for the wrong side, he joined Sub-Zero and allied with the forces of good.
