10 Most Stylish Video Games Of The Last 10 Years
6. Bloodborne
Whilst I did say in the introduction that it's not just about graphical fidelity, there are two exceptions in this list.
The first has to be Bloodborne, because well, look at it.
FromSoftware's next frustrating title after Dark Souls was the Lovecraftian/Gothic affair, Bloodborne. Sure, it's certainly darker than its predecessors, but in terms of style it completely surpasses it.
Think Vampire Hunter D or Van Helsing, that dark level of slickness and style that puts knights and suits of armour to shame. Gross bosses that, whilst terrifying, have more visual appeal than anything Capcom can produce.
With each strike causing blood to gush and flow about the place, seeing your Hunter wearing a liberal coating of claret as they travel through Yharnam is a spectacle in itself.
The trick weapons, the fast paced combat that gives Devil May Cry a run for its money (minus the aerial acrobatics), the world itself...
It comes together to give you that beauty in the otherwise endless frustration that Bloodborne brings. You know it's difficult, but when it looks this good you want to see it through.
