How do you make sure you create a terrifying horror game that nobody gets to play? Well, you get it banned of course!

However, we all know that once a horror property gets banned, interest in it skyrockets. That was the case with video nasty movies decades ago, and it's the same with Devotion, a supremely spooky horror game set in a Taiwanese tower block. Devotion wasn't banned due to graphic content or anything like that though, but by including a meme that upset the Chinese government.

Consequently, Devotion was difficult to come by for years, existing merely only in myth. Now though, it's readily available on storefronts and, on top of its controversy, proves to be a game worth waiting for.

Delving into the lives and personal traumas of a gifted but troubled family, the title blends both the personal and the political, backing it all up with an incredibly eerie score, disturbing imagery and a wide-reaching plot.
