To promote a new console, releasing a remake of a beloved title at launch is a safe way to grab gamers' attention. And since the Soulsborne games have exploded in popularity over the yers, FromSoftware wisely chose to recreate the genre's progenitor, Demon's Souls, as a PS5 launch title.

Although Demon's Souls 2020 could've been an ironically soulless cash-grab, the developers went above and beyond with this reimagining. Because the original was on the PS3, the graphical upgrade is staggering. No matter how much you adored the first Demon's Souls, it's impossible to go back to it, once you see how gloriously terrifying the enemies and screen-filling bosses look in this version.

But wait, there's more. Like the Dark Souls Remaster, the multiplayer has been boosted from four-player to six-player. Your healing collectibles is heavily limited, forcing the player to be more strategic while using them.

Not only are there new weapons, armour, rings, and customising options, there are additional modes including a Mirror Mode and, get ready for this, a mode that allows you... to pause. If you're feeling nostalgic, you can also select Classic Mode, making the game resemble its 2009 counterpart.
