If you're reading this article at all, then chances are, you were probably not a fan of DmC: Devil May Cry.

While DmC was developed by proven action game developer Ninja Theory, and lived up to their reputation in terms of high-quality action gaming, fans considered every other aspect of the game a betrayal, largely due to the extremely western take on the Japanese property.

Dante went from a cool, white-haired anime action hero to Morrissey by way of Twilight. Instead of a deeply mythology-based lore, the series took on a tone of social commentary, the evils of demons and such representing the ills of modern western consumerism and pop culture. There was even a Fox News level.

Fortunately, fans can breathe a deep sigh of relief as the series has since returned to its roots, even throwing out the concept of a reboot entirely and continuing the original story.
