10 Oddball Video Games That Turned Out Awesome

3. I Am Bread

Have you ever thought about what it's like to be a piece of generic white bread? Your sole purpose in your yeasty life is to become toast, and if you don't attain that goal then you're doomed to become mouldy, despised, then discarded by the world. But if there's no one around to put you in the toaster, then you have to do it yourself, right? And that journey to the toaster is the, errr, bread-and-butter of this game. You control each corner of the piece of bread individually, pushing your coordination skills to the limit as you try to get each of its kind-of limbs to work together somehow. You'll need to work your way around wet surfaces, sinks, and plenty of destructible kitchen crockery on that fateful voyage to the toaster. The gameplay is extremely challenging and addictive, bolstered by the option to play as other baked goods such as a bagel (which with a bit of skill you can get rolling like some kind of possessed car tyre), and a baguette whereby your goal is to swing yourself around like a baseball bat and destroy everything in the kitchen. You'll never look at bread the same way again.
