10 Outrageous Hidden Moments In Video Games

8. Duck Racing - Shenmue II

The Shenmue franchise has always been prone to a little eccentricity, though Shenmue II took this to a whole other level with its hidden duck racing mini-game.

Beware, however, that unlocking the duck racing mode is no easy feat, requiring you to collect a bronze and a silver medal.

The former can be picked up fairly easily by completing one of several mundane tasks, but getting the latter requires you to beat two balls-hard opponents in the arcade.

Only then will you unlock the duck races to bet on, but if you want to actually take part in the races you'll still have to catch your own duck. This requires you to catch four leaves in one go at the nearby temple, which is much trickier than it sounds.

Once the bizarrely foul-mouthed duck is in your hands, you'll be able to enter it into races, where victory will net you a totally worthless "Big Gold Medal" that can't be exchanged for anything and offers nothing more than bragging rights.

This really is the most Shenmue thing ever, for better and/or worse.
