10 Overlooked Upcoming Games You MUST Consider
2. Acts of Blood
Acts of Blood is a new third-person beat 'em up set in a dystopian vision of Bandung, Indonesia, where law student Hendra seeks revenge for the murder of his family at the hands of a powerful gang.
Aesthetically and mechanically, there's no denying that this game is deeply indebted to Sifu - and, by proxy, the hallway fight from Oldboy - though there are also some notable differences.
For one, Acts of Blood allows the player to use guns, and it also has a comprehensive parkour traversal system, allowing fluid movement throughout the game world.
Success in this game is heavily dependent on your ability to chain attacks together while battling large fleets of foes, with players able to seamlessly move from hand-to-hand combat to melee fighting and gunplay.
Despite its obvious influences, Acts of Blood looks like a ton of fun, serving up unpretentious, bone-crunching thrills by the bucket-load.
Its release date is still firmly TBA, though, so it's presumably a little way off.
