10 Overlooked Video Games We All Know Are True Classics
7. Beyond Good & Evil
Ask a gamer about underrated classics and a lot of them will mention Beyond Good & Evil. This game from the creator of Rayman went through a long development period, and there were even plans for a trilogy.
However, while reviewers praised the setting and story, they were critical of combat and other technical issues. Upon release in 2003, the game was considered a commercial failure, selling few copies. However, the game still has a following to this day and there has even been a HD re-release, why has it stood up well after all those years?
In Beyond Good and Evil, you control Jade, an investigative reporter on an outlying planet who is on the trail of her biggest story yet.
Jade and her allies will be responsible for uncovering a conspiracy theory that will shake society to its core. Ranging from corrupt governments to alien invasions, there’s very little this story doesn’t have.
To uncover everything, you will need to employ all Jade's skills, whether that is investigation, stealth or combat. This game has resonated with people for many years, the familiar sense of game design along with the conspiracy theory plot have all made this a firm favourite.
With a prequel on the way, there’s no better
time to enjoy this game.
