Sunset Overdrive is an Insomniac Games weird mix between Tony Hawk games, rail shooters, and zombie survival titles. As this brief description might have told you already, the game loves to play with ridiculous concepts, and its arsenal of weapons is a great proof of that.

Your character can wield a severed head launcher, a baseball bat/hammer hybrid, and the craziest weapon of them all—Excalamune.

Excalamune, a play on King Arthur's legendary sword and the name of a famous Japanese bladesmith, is a weapon truly deserving of its epic namesakes. It appears in only one mission in Sunset Overdrive, in which the player forges it in the flame of nuclear fire as a gift for their ninja-cheerleader soon-to-be friend Esperanza.

Thanks to its atomic creation, Excalamune is capable of destroying entire waves of enemies with one strike, and it has the ability to summon deadly flames and lightning bolts that deal additional damage and heal the player at the same time.

Fighting with Excalamune is a breeze and a joy, making you feel like a hero straight out of an epic tale. Unfortunately, the blade is eventually destroyed after Esperanza refuses to take it from you and breaks it before throwing you out of her safehouse.

Come on! You could at least give it back if you don't want it!
