10 Overpowered Video Game Weapons You Weren't Supposed To Get
8. Dawnguard Rune Axe - The Elder Scrolls: V Skyrim
Bugs-wise, Skyrim is a Bethesda game through and through. Sometimes the glitches and errors you encounter can be funny, sometimes frustrating, but in the case of the Dawnguard Rune Axe, the bugs allow you to get the most overpowered weapon in the game.
The axe is part of Dawnguard’s radiant quests, in which you search for the faction’s lost artifacts. It comes with a unique enchantment that allows it to increase the amount of sun damage it deals based on the number of undead enemies the player has killed with it.
The damage buff is supposed to cap at ten and reset every night. However, due to a bug, the damage is counted past ten anyway, and with the use of another bug, you can ensure it never gets reset.
To do so, all you have to do is temper the axe on a grindstone using the Steel Smithing perk. The axe will then forget to reset its damage counter and allow you to increase it indefinitely.
Once this is done, you can scale up the damage on summoned undead until every single attack on Draugrs and Dragon Priests will feel like a small nuclear explosion to them!
