5. Fast RMX

Grab it if you like: WipeOut, F-Zero.

Being Sony announced the WipeOut Omega Collection on PS4, we could be seeing a revival of the low-grav racers of old. Like both WipeOut and F-Zero, Fast RMX takes is base staples from futuristic course designs and sleek, tubular ships, before boosting and holding an eyeball-searingly fast 60 FPS frame rate.

Sadly there aren't any power-ups other than chaining boosts to keep the screen a constant blur, but a dedicated button does change your ship's thruster colour, tying into strips on the track and adding a rhythmic element to linking them together.

So far this is only available on the Switch, but with any luck, PS4 and Xbox One owners should see an iteration at some point, too.
