10 Pointless Video Game Reboots NOBODY Asked For

8. Turok (2008)

Overview: Turok is a video game series about killing dinosaurs, aliens, or alien dinosaurs. The games are based on a series of comic books, although they don't take much inspiration from them. Especially not the reboot that released in 2008 for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC.

Instead of revolving around time-traveling warriors like the previous Turoks, the 2008 game stars a military soldier who crash-lands on an alien planet while in pursuit of a traitor. Gone are all the mystical elements that fit the insanity of fighting alien dinosaurs. All this game wants to do is be Gears of War meets Jurassic Park.

Why It Was Pointless: Who asked for a Turok reboot?

Since the game's studio, Propaganda Games was hit by several layoffs and eventually closed before they could develop Turok 2, the answer's obvious.

There hasn't been a new Turok since, so this could be considered the reboot that killed the franchise. If someone else were to take a shot at it, hopefully they understand that no one wants to play Call of Duty: Turok Edition.

Regular Turok worked just fine.
