10 Pointless Video Game Reboots NOBODY Asked For

9. Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare

Overview: This game is the only one on the list to not be released yet. It also hasn't been officially confirmed, but multiple reports label the next COD as Call of Duty: Modern Warfare.

It'll be a reboot of, well, Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, which was the first Call of Duty to make everyone go "Oh, shooting people is fun."

Why It's Pointless: The whole reason they're making this a reboot is so they can avoid naming it Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4. That would be confusing, considering that the original also has an oddly-placed "4" in the title that everyone forgot about until now.

Too bad everyone's still going to call it Modern Warfare 4.

Call of Duty isn't the type of franchise to really require a reboot, to be honest. A few of the games do have lingering plot lines that carry over to the next, but they're nothing important.

In November 2016, Activision ported Modern Warfare to the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC. It was titled Call of Duty Modern Warfare Remastered. That makes three Modern Warfare games that all share pretty much the same name, and technically, the same identity.

If you didn't realize that Activision is struggling with Call of Duty's direction, this should be a real eye-opener.
