10 Pointless (Yet Awesome) Character Abilities In Video Games

9. Barking - Okami

Okami Barking
Capcom

As far as pointless abilities go in video games, nothing quite compares to the pure innocent joy gained from spamming the circle button while playing Okami. Pretty much the best Zelda experience you can get outside of an actual Zelda game, Okami lets you step into the paws of Amaterasu - the sun goddess incarnated as a beautiful white wolf.

Being a wolf is brilliant, and not just because your tail doubles as a magical paintbrush. You can run around the fields, dig holes to uncover hidden treasure, and even bite people on the butt. By far the most pointless yet wonderful ability is pressing the circle button to bark.

That’s it: she just barks. You can spam it as often as you like, as you roam across the countryside, use it to spook smaller animals into submission and scare some humans. The fact that a whole button input is dedicated to barking just makes this already very charming game all the more adorable.

Also the go-to for Doctor Who, and could tell you why Sans Serif fonts are better than most. Still occasionally tap dances under the desk.
