10 Pointless (Yet Awesome) Character Abilities In Video Games

10. Lightsaber Twirling - Star Wars: Knights Of The Old Republic

Knights of the Old Republic Flourish
Lucasarts

An outstanding example of handling a licence with all the power of The Force, Knights of the old Republic deserves your attention in so many ways. If you’re a Star Wars fan, this game is a must and even those with a passing interest in sci-fi and Wookies should take a look-see at this sprawling space opera, with its deep character customisation and moral choice system.

However, standing between you and your goals are all manner of ne'er do wells, and while you might try to schmooze your way out of situations, sometimes matters require a show of force with your trusty weapons.

And what better way to make yourself feel like an all-powerful, all-skilled Jedi than by pressing a button which twirls your lightsaber or lightsabers around complete with that trademark sound? It’s utterly pointless apart from making you look cool, but then again, that's what the entire fashion and music industries are built upon. Who doesn't want to look cool?

Born in Theatre, sits at a Computer. After over a decade of tinkering with Video Editing software, Rich gets to spend his precious time editing whatever's thrown at him. Also the go-to for Doctor Who, and could tell you why Sans Serif fonts are better than most. Still occasionally tap dances under the desk.
