10 Pro Evolution Soccer Legends Who Flopped In Real Life
9. Hatem Trabelsi
There was a time when Hatem Trabelsi was tipped to be the biggest and best right back in world football. Pro Evolution Soccer 4, to be exact.
That was the edition that saw the Tunisian start the game at Arsenal. It was certainly a good fit – the Gunners needed a full-back and, if Trabelsi’s stats on the game were anything to go by, he was more than up to the task.
A good defender with strong stamina and a decent burst of pace, he was the kind of player Pro Evo connoisseurs were regularly telling their friends about.
Unfortunately, for Konami, they had slightly jumped the gun in adding the north African to the Arsenal ranks. In fact, Trabelsi didn’t end up signing for Arsene Wenger’s team and returned to Ajax.
The north London club’s loss ended up being Manchester City’s gain when, in 2006, he signed for the Blues on loan.
It didn’t end up going well though, with Trabelsi a shadow of his former self at the Etihad where injuries and a general lack of form restricted him to just 20 league appearances.
Despite his God-like status on PES, City opted against making the move a permanent one and he headed off to Al-Hilal in Saudi Arabia where he lasted just one year before hanging up his boots for good.
