10 Problems That Stop Popular Video Game Companies Being Perfect
4. Activision's Treatment Of Its Classics Library
Although Activision has plenty of issues when it comes to cramming their games full of microtransactions and other nickel-and-diming tactics, for the most part these dodgy business decisions don't impact the quality of their games.
Unfortunately, the publisher's flippant disregard for their back catalogue does. Re-releasing old fan-favourites has become the norm in this generation, yet Activision puts nowhere near as much effort into its remasters as other studios.
The publisher charges full price for basic, up-resed versions of games like Prototype and Marvel Ultimate Alliance, where studios like Insomniac are re-building old games from the ground up and releasing them at a discount.
And that's not to mention the way the company treated Modern Warfare Remastered, holding it hostage to make players pre-order the Legacy Edition of Infinite Warfare, which was almost double the price of the regular version of the game.
Not only that but in an age where publishers usually bundle in all the released DLC for a game with a remastered release, Activison decided to release MW's single expansion separately, for even more money than they sold it for ten years ago.
