10 Problems That Stop Popular Video Game Companies Being Perfect
2. Telltale Games Won't Update Their Engine
Telltale Games have come a long way from their humble beginnings. In charge of some of the biggest franchises in the entire world, the studio has made a name for itself in recent years by making quality, story-driven adaptations of everyone's favourite properties.
Which is why it's so frustrating that, despite being launched into the big time, the studio is still using an engine that breaks its games more often than it runs them. Releasing hugely anticipated titles that are either full of bugs, suffering from stilted animations or outright broken, Telltale could easily lose the stature it's gained because of its fondness for the crippled engine it uses.
Even former employees have complained about how terrible it is, with simple things like making a scene where a book falls off a shelf being ridiculously time consuming because the physics engine isn't up to scratch.
The studio is one of the best working today, and it's so frustrating to see them being held back by their own tech.
