10 Promising First & Third-Person Shooters Coming In 2022
2. Atomic Heart
Originally announced back in 2017, Atomic Heart has attracted the attention of many gamers with it's bizarre, chaotic and intriguing aesthetic and gameplay. This first person adventure shooter is in development at Russian studio Mundfish for PlayStation, Xbox and PC.
The game is set in an alternate universe where the Soviet Union led a technological revolution, resulting in a vast array of robots, wacky weaponry and wild gadgets. The game will feature an open world map layout, allowing players to explore it's shiny dystopian locations.
Players will be able to use guns and melee weapons, as well as take advantage of a crafting system to create interesting weapons and equipment as they see fit. The story revolves around a KGB officer tasked with investigating a mysterious facility that the Russian government has lost contact with.
The developers have also boasted that the game will feature no loading screens on next generations systems, taking advantage of modern hardware to deliver a seamless open world experience.
Details remain relatively scarce for Atomic Heart but with a vague 2022 release window, we should expect to hear more soon for the game, which will be launching on PlayStation, PC and Xbox Game Pass.
