9. Summoner
It's fair to say that until games such as Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion and Dragon Age on Xbox 360 and PS3, console gamers were largely uninterested in what were once-considered games 'only PC owners would crow on about'. RPG's were only really permitted by the 'casual' console market if they happened to be called Final Fantasy. Of course, the above is a sweeping generalisation, but you get the point - it was harder to market a determined, old-school role playing game on consoles than it was on PC, where it was argued that players had more patience, and would be more willing to put the hours in for an expansive experience to unfold. Summoner may well be the perfect example of that - released around the launch of the PS2, the game undersold on consoles, and it could be down to the hardcore elements of the gameplay, and slower pace of action. A sequel was released in 2002, but didn't fare much better. Thankfully, none of this means the game isn't worth turning back the clock and laying some hours aside to play it. Go on, you'll thank us later!
