Developed by Swordfish Studios, a company responsible for other *cough* classics such as Brian Lara Cricket, World Championship Rugby and 50 Cent: Line In The Sand, comes Cold Winter, a completely out of nowhere first person shooter which stands tall as the best game the developing house ever churned out. Slipping past relatively un-noticed, this FPS is one worth revisiting. Of course, given that it was released in 2005, you're hardly going to see spectacular graphics, nor are you going to have fluid gameplay or presentation to rival the latest Call Of Duty title, but it's still a crying shame this one was over-looked. The story is engaging, the shooting itself is solid, and there's a nice atmosphere about it all. Perhaps not spectacular, but it comes from an era long-before shooters were arguably burdened by multiplayer focus.
