10 Rarest PS1 Games Ever

1. LSD: Dream Emulator

New: ??? | Used: $250 This game, or rather this bizarre psychedelic experience that seems to have been spewed straight from the designer's subconscious, was almost unheard of until the Let's Play community managed to find a ROM of it somewhere in the dark recesses of the internet. In this unique exploration... thing, you wander in a first-person perspective around various surreal environments, interacting with object to move onto a different 'dream'. Some of these dreams see you wandering around strange fields with purple skies and multi-coloured fairgrounds, while others take you to nightmarish caverns with demonic babies wandering around. Depending on which objects you interact with, you get taken into a different dream-world, meaning that each play-through offers a different experience. There is no ultimate goal as such, other than trying not to slip into nightmare scenarios that will haunt you forever, despite their rudimentary 3D graphics. The game is based on its developer's dream diary, and even though the 'LSD' in the name apparently stands for 'in Life, the Sensuous Dream', the devs will surely have been aware of the game's resemblance to a heavy psychedelic drug trip. LSD is almost impossible to find, though a few years ago a used copy went on eBay for around $250. Makes you wonder how much a sealed version of this Freudian field-day must be worth.
