10 Reasons Battle Royale Is Dying
1. Loyal Players Won't Move
There can be little argument that in terms of Battle Royale, Fortnite is the current king, while PUBG has its own army of followers and players to keep it well in the race.
This is all well and good and is great for those sorts of games, but what incentive have those players got to try something new? And what happens when they reach the end of their shelf-life?
Gamers become inherintly to their favourite games, and even if other games did decide to go all-in on Battle Royale modes in the future, they would face a huge task in attracting new players. Constant comparisons to what used to be on offer wouldn't help in the slightest, and it's easy to see these players just simply moving away to something completely different if it doesn't satisfy their needs.
With those players sticking to their surroundings with the likes of Fortnite and PUBG and often possessing a stubbornness when it comes to making a shift, it could spell the end of Battle Royale in the long-term.
With two big games holding such a monopoly on the entire genre, regardless of what future offerings bring to the table, it's hard to see them developing enough of a new fan-base to maintain any sort of momentum.
