2. It's Too Generic
A problem a lot of games can face but something that is particularly an issue for Battle Royale, is the fact it's a generic game mode that is hard to make feel unique regardless of what game you play.
The likelihood is that if players have got bored with playing Apex Legends or PUBG, they aren't likely to switch over to Fortnite or Call of Duty for another game of what is essentially the same thing.
While other genres can give players different experiences - such as switching sports games from NBA to FIFA - Battle Royale fails to give players that real sense that they are playing a completely new game.
Gamers are always wanting to experience something new or better to that they have gotten used to, and simply switching titles to immerse yourself in what is a near identical experience is something which doesn't have longevity.
