10 Reasons It Totally Sucked To Be A Gamer In 2012

7. Motion Controls/Touch Pads etc.

We all know it started back up with Nintendo and their beloved Wii, but to be fair to Nintendo they have now (sort of) left the motion controlled thing behind (in favour of touchscreen). Gimmicks have always been a part of gaming history and time has not sweetened them. The problem is rather than a game having a motion control or touchscreen aspect created for it, we have games that have to be crushed and morphed to incorporate some new gimmick that the game was never designed for. The big hitters for these wrongdoings are the Playstation Move and the Kinect. These two peripherals are totally hopeless because without physical feedback, motion controlled gaming doesn€™t work. Now, with the Wii U; it honestly seems like companies have no idea what they are doing. They fail to grasp that having a controller is the best way to play a video game and try to re-invent the wheel till everyone is bouncing uncomfortably on a square wheeled bike. With this year€™s growing trend of games like Adidas Micoach, Kinect Nat Geo TV and Book of Spells; it seems that motion controls are just padding for terrible casual games, which is actually a good thing. Have motion controlled gaming away from the triple A titles and hope they€™ll go the way of the Great Auk and become extinct.

Thomas James Hunt is a British Video Game Critic who is a rather unpleasant character in the journalism world. So brace yourself for some nasty behaviour in the form of articles.
