10 Reasons Spider-Man PS4 Is The PERFECT Spider-Man Movie
2. Laying Down A Great Foundation For Future Releases
-- Spoilers within --
Since 2008, we've gotten used to seeing the typical end-of-credits tease in Marvel movies; that mini-sequence that sets up the next film. Indeed that cinematic universe has done the interconnected narrative better than most.
Being tied to that property, it was no surprise that Insomniac followed suit.
Much like its movie counterparts, Spider-Man PS4 tells a complete story while laying the groundwork for future entries, in a way that doesn't feel forced or tacked on. Ending with Peter and MJ back together was a very heartwarming moment, alongside Miles Morales revealing his powers, but it didn't stop there.
As the game builds to its climax, Peter leaping in to save Osborn senior may have been the wrong move. Transitioning from a sly look Norman gives to Spidey as he races back up Oscorp Tower, all the way to the end-credits, we learn that his son Harry was never in Europe after all.
Instead, he was hidden away in a research tank as his father desperately searched for a cure. With Spider-Man: Miles Morales on the way for the PlayStation 5 in 2020 and a full sequel sure to be the pipeline, Spider-Man PS4 left players hungry for more.
Knowing Insomniac's pedigree, they're sure to deliver something epic.
