10 Reasons The Witcher 3 Truly Is Game Of The Year 2015

3. The Characters

The Witcher series is one of those franchises that just keeps getting better with each instalment, especially in regards to the characters. Video games aren€™t known for being particularly effective character pieces, but The Witcher 3 is an exception to the rule. Even though it is a massive game in which the characters could have easily been lost or forgotten about, it never skips out on keeping them at the forefront, and the result is a cast of characters you grow to love the longer you play. Geralt in particular is given way more range and emotional depth than in previous games, which leads to many great character beats that really develop him in ways both tragic and humorous. The rest of the cast, including Triss, Yennefer, Ciri, Vesemir and a host of others too large to count are all extremely well written and voice acted. The game is populated with a huge network of supporting and minor characters that are strong, sexy, and emotionally compelling. Basically, there is no shortage of characters to latch onto in The Witcher 3, and this sweeps you off your feet and makes the journey all the more absorbing. For those who love story and characters, it is a must play title that contains some of the best characters you€™ll find in a game this year and, let€™s fact it, probably the next.
