6. We Happy Few - The Gameplay Sounds Generic
We Happy Few isn't just one of the most artistically impressive games to come out of E3 2016, it's one of the most artistically impressive games anyone has ever seen.
Though there are elements of games like Bioshock and films like Invasion of the Bodysnachers in its design, We Happy Few is still a hauntingly unique world where individualism and feelings are suppressed and persecuted.
Where the game becomes substantially less unique is when you really start to examine the gameplay. So far, We Happy Few mechanically resembles a host of other stealth-based survival titles on the market today such as Sir, You Are Being Hunted. Even ideally original elements such as the use of medication to blend in is only really an elaborate cardboard box disguise system that offers no real long-term repercussions.
We Happy Few's style is undeniable, but it's substance remains something of a mystery.
