5. God Of War - How Much Of Classic God Of War Remains?
Occasionally, you need to reboot a franchise. Games can become too dependent on the qualities that made them initially famous, and when that happens, it becomes necessary to start from scratch, simply to create something fresh.
By all accounts, that appears to be what is happening with God of War.
The funny thing about that, is God of War is one of those franchises that wasn't really begging for a reboot. Though certain elements of the series could certainly use a touchup, the game we saw in the title's reveal trailer seemed to have more in common with Dark Souls than it does classic God of War titles.
Now, granted, the preview was a limited one, but the emphasis on one-on-one combat and kid assisted abilities is certainly a far cry from the epic fast-paced battles that made the series infamous.
Is this an entirely new endeavour under the guise of a God of War title? What remains of the classic God of War style that fans still love?
