10 Reasons To Be Worried About E3 2016's Hottest Video Games
7. Death Stranding - Hideo Kojima's Madness Is Running Unchecked
I love Hideo Kojima. The first time I played Metal Gear Solid was the first time I played something that felt like it was trying to be truly novel with the concept of cinematic storytelling in gaming. The man is an insane genius who has proven his worth time and time again via a series of memorable titles.
As great as Kojima is, though, he also has a tendency to really push his weirdness that little bit too far. Games like Metal Gear Solid V are great in spite of this, while others such as MGS 2 suffer directly because of it.
Removed from the shackles of the Konami development scene, will (or can) Hideo Kojima prove that he was a disrespected genius unappreciated by the system, or struggle to temper his artistic ambitions now that he's firmly in charge?
My heart says the former, but my head can't help but worry about the latter.
